How to Make 85-Year-Old You Miserable

from The Alli Worthington Show · host Alli Worthington

Here’s the big question this week - “If I wanted to make 85-year-old me miserable, what would I do?” Let’s dive into some key areas of our lives and talk about a topic that isn’t the easiest to discuss: regrets. You know, there are some common regrets people have as they reach the end of their lives, but the great news is we can change that right now. How do we avoid the pitfalls of regret when we’re at the end of our life and ensure that our 85-year-old selves are filled with joy, purpose, and living the life God has for us?  It’s not about secret insider info but rather about self-reflection. Real change and real success comes over time from having a wise counselor ask you the right questions at the right moment. I believe this is the right moment for you!  Here are three practical tips to not make 85-year-old-you miserable: Try new experiences. Stop chasing perfection. Invest in yourself Take a moment to think about three small things, three small habits, that you can start that will get you a little bit closer to where you want to be.   Favorite quotes:  01:34 - “Wisdom comes from life experience, prayer, reflection, and getting asked the right question at the right moment.” 02:37 - “So many people had the exact same regrets.” 06:57 - “We should work on our happiness. We should do everything possible to live healthy, happy, and Godly lives.” 12:11 - “Sometimes we need to think of the cost of not doing something because we get so used to the status quo we can't even imagine how much better it will be if we're willing to invest.” 13:14 - “Remember, small changes equal big results.”   Recommendations This week I share a scripture tea towel that I love from my Little Things Studio.
