How To Make Space Travel Economically Viable

Space exploration has long been the dream of science fiction authors and enthusiasts well before we even had the technology to explore life beyond our own planet. Today, astronauts live year-round in low-earth orbit aboard the ISS (International Space Station). We have put men on the moon, and we have companies that are said to be commercializing space. But, all of this begs the question: what will space exploration actually do for humanity?
