How To Never Have Your Cows Lose Their Ear Tags Again
from Ranch It Up Radio Show & Podcast · host Jeff ”Tigger” Erhardt
We share how you can never worry about your cows losing their ear tags again. We have lots of sale barn reports, PETA tries to strike again, market recaps, cattle for sale and it’s all wrapped into this episode of The Ranch It Up Radio Show. Be sure to subscribe on your favorite podcasting app or on the Ranch It Up Radio Show YouTube Channel. EPISODE 172 DETAILS With all discussions around electronic identification, many third party verification companies have been demonstrating their latest advances in tag and identification reading systems. This makes sense because many of the programs offered for selling feeder cattle, have to have some sort of permanent identification. What we find so interesting is each cow, bull, steer, and heifer is unique in its physical identification, meaning its face is a one-of-a-kind, just like a fingerprint for you and me. What if we could identify each animal just by their face? Now I am not talking about how pretty much all of us can identify every cow in our herds by looking across the pasture and we remember her information. I still remember cows from when I was a kid. I am talking about being able to access a complete database, not by a tag, but by its face. Think that is years away? No sir. That technology is here and now. We introduce you to 406 Bovine. PETA strikes again. This time attacking carousels. We have market reports from Stockmen's Livestock Exchange. Plus how high will the markets go and why? Justin Tupper from St. Onge Livestock joins us to discuss the feeder cattle market. 406 BOVINE - FACIAL RECOGNITION IN CATTLE About 406 Bovine 406 Bovine provides a facial recognition software that rapidly identifies cattle in an unconfined setting by capturing animal-specific facial data. The animal rights group sent a letter to the company asking them to remove the animals from the carousels and replace them with vehicles or whimsical designs. PETA argues that having animal-themed carousels promotes the exploitation of animals and can lead to real-life animal abuse UPCOMING BULL SALES ANGUS CHAROLAIS HEREFORD GELBVIEH BALANCER RED ANGUS SIMMENTAL SIMANGUS Chestnut Angus Farm: February 25, 2024, Pipestone, Minnesota Mason Angus & SimAngus: March 2, 2024, Broken Bow, Nebraska Pederson Broken Heart Ranch: March 6, 2024, Firesteel, South Dakota Mar Mac Farms: March 6, 2024, Brandon, Manitoba Leland Red Angus & Koester Red Angus: March 8, 2024, Beach, North Dakota RBM Livestock: March 10, 2024, Florence, South Dakota Sundsbak Farms: March 16, 2024, Des Lacs, North Dakota Hidden Angus: March 17, 2024, Sebeka, Minnesota Vollmer Angus Ranch: April 2, 2024, Wing, North Dakota BULL SALE REPORT & RESULTS Churchill Cattle Company Van Newkirk Herefords Gardiner Angus Ranch Cow Camp Ranch Jungels Shorthorn Farms Ellingson Angus Frey Angus Ranch Edgar Brothers Angus Schaff Angus Valley Prairie Hills Gelbvieh Clear Springs Cattle Company CK Cattle Mrnak Hereford Ranch Frey Angus Ranch Hoffmann Angus Farms Topp Herefords FEATURING Bryan Elliott 406 Bovine https://www.406bovine.com/ @406bovine Stockmen’s Livestock Exchange http://www.gostockmens.com/ @gostockmens Justin Tupper St. Onge Livestock https://www.stongelivestock.com/ @stongelivestock Kirk Donsbach: Stone X Financial https://www.stonex.com/ @StoneXGroupInc Mark Van Zee Livestock Market, Equine Market, Auction Time https://www.auctiontime.com/ https://www.livestockmarket.com/ https://www.equinemarket.com/ @LivestockMkt @EquineMkt @AuctionTime Shaye Koester Casual Cattle Conversation https://www.casualcattleconversations.com/ @cattleconvos Questions & Concerns From The Field?
