How to Not Go Broke Trying to Live Your Best Life w/ Reni, the Resource

from $HMONEY Radio · host Anastasia Barbuzzi

“If a 23-year old black woman who’s a child of immigrants, who lives in Mississauga, is able to purchase her first house at the age of 23, I think I can also do this as a 25-year-old woman…”  - Reni, the ResourceReni, the Resource, makes complex topics simple. The 26-year-old phenom started her career in the wealth management department at the Bank of Montreal, sending marketing materials to ultra-rich account holders. One day, she started wondering why only the most affluent people had access to that information, which sparked her curiosity about bringing it to social media for all to see. Once Reni bought her first house at 23, friends and family nudged her to create a YouTube channel and other social media accounts, demanding to know how she did it. Today, she’s a full-time content creator and financial literacy educator with the goal of letting people know that they can achieve the same thing. In today’s episode, we discuss Reni’s upbringing, which included personal finance teachings from her parents (and stocks for birthday gifts), learning how to invest, renting versus buying, why having a house isn’t “all that,” her #1 money recommendation, representation in the financial literacy space, and so much more. One of our favourite guests (and teachers), Reni is genuinely a great resource with a wealth of knowledge. To learn more about Reni, tap or click HERE.
