How to recession-proof your real estate portfolio

Looks like we're headed into a recession. Regardless, we think it's best to be prepared. We've been preparing for the recession since 2015. Even if you haven't, it's not too late to "recession-proof" your real estate portfolio. What do we mean by "recession-proofing" your real estate portfolio? Finding recession-proof tenants! Renting your property to tenants who get their rent subsidized - ideally by the government, but it can be a non-profit or a company. If it's a company, you want to make sure that the company is recession-resistant (for example, a hospital).
