How to Replace Unproductive Habits with Purposeful Habits | EP: 12

from Brain Boom with Matt West · host Matt West

Are habits good or bad? Should we work on developing habits? With so many questions about habits I am on a mission to discover the inner workings of our habits.  According to studies Our daily lives include hundreds of routine habits. Brushing our teeth, making coffee, or scrolling through instagram are just a few of the tasks that our brains have automated to the point that we hardly need to think about them.  I believe that our habits and having a self awareness on how habits impact our lives can have a great influence on the quality of our life. One of earliest memories I had of a habit that was formed in my childhood was my craving for bread. I remember walking into market with my mom and the smell of the croissant delighted my senses and savoring the sweet taste I was hooked. As I reflected back on this memory  I realized my mom was hooked to the savory taste as well. Every morning before I was dropped off at school we stop by the market a grabbed a croissant like clockwork. Repeated poor habits prevents us from accomplish personal and meaningful goals. More importantly it impacts of overall well being— both mentally and physically. Poor habits leads to depleting our time and energy. Leave some feedback: What should we talk about next?
