That is why diplomacy is so important to bringing about healthy conflict management. According to the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), used by human resource (HR) professionals worldwide, there are five major styles to resolve conflict—collaborating, competing, avoiding, accommodating, and compromising.
