A simple laser pointer lets the person with the goggles show everyone else exactly where a meteor is streaking, and it was with that setup that they watched meteors stop midair, loop around other stars, and zigzag in impossible patterns. One of the strongest signals they teach is simple: if a light in the sky makes a sharp left turn or stops, it is not a satellite. Patience and company matter as much as gear.
