How to stay connected to God all day

I remember as a new Christian I would write Bible verses on pieces of paper, and put them in my shoes.   Yes, in between the sole of my foot and my shoe, so that I was literally ‘standing on the Word’.   OK, it was a little weird, but it did something deep inside of me that still helps me to this day.   It helped me to be AWARE of God throughout my day (because the piece of paper constantly irritated my foot).   This did something amazing – it caused me to stop and talk with God about whatever was going on at that moment. Ask Him a question. Tell Him how I was feeling. Find out what He was thinking. And it trained my heart to be in relationship with Him, not just pray to Him when I needed something.   It was as if we just spent the day together hanging out. He with me, and me with Him.
