You know, I woke up this morning and the first thing that happened was I got a notification on my phone, which I thought I had turned them off, and it's a good way to keep things calm, keep you from feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of life, is to just turn off the notifications. But this one went off and my phone vibrated, and I looked at it, and it's an email telling me that my credit card payment is late. And I said, what? I feel like I make extra payments just to keep the balance down so I don't let it get out of hand because I like to use my credit card for ordinary purchases all the time because you earn points and get those reward points.
And as long as you keep it paid off and keep the balance down, it's not a problem at all. I mean, no different than using your debit card. So I was kind of surprised that it said I was late on the payment. And I look at it and I'm like, well, sure enough, I haven't made a payment.
And I guess I just assumed that the date to make the payment was on the 30th. But the part that started to upset me a little bit was that they made, there's obviously there's a penalty for making a late payment, but they made no effort whatsoever to notify me that my payment was due. So, you know, every other app and even within this particular bank's app, there's a notification for everything except for when your credit card payment is due, because hopefully, to me, it felt like they were hoping I would forget, right? But the more I started thinking about this, the more upset I became.
And mind you, this is the very first thing that I saw in the morning. So I had to stop myself and say, look, what am I doing right now? My thoughts are thoughts of complaint, right? Even as I'm making this recording for you, it felt like I was starting to move into the complain realm again and I had to bring myself back.
The thing is, as soon as you start complaining, as soon as I start complaining, as soon as complaining gets into your mind, you start to ruin your day. So, just try to catch it. You're not going to catch it every time. And at first, if you are in a state where all you do is complain and you begin to realize that, it's going to be really difficult to pull out.
But it's all just about catching it and making steady progress. Catch it, pull it back, express some gratitude for something. I'm thankful to be alive. That's the number one easiest thing to go to because there's so many times the odds of being alive are like 400 trillion to 1.
So, take that with you and have a good day. Thanks for listening.
