How to Survive Losing a Child

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

How to Survive Losing a Child There are no words deep enough to describe the pain of losing a child. It feels like the world has shattered, and you are left holding the broken pieces. In moments like these, it's easy to wonder if survival is even possible. But even here, in the valley of unimaginable sorrow, God whispers, "I am with you." Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." (NLT) God does not expect you to be strong. He simply invites you to lean into Him, even if all you have are tears. Your grief matters to Him. Every tear you cry is precious in His sight (Psalm 56:8). The road ahead may feel long and lonely, but you do not walk it alone. Jesus, who wept at the grave of His friend Lazarus, weeps with you. He understands your sorrow and carries you when you can no longer walk. Hold on to this truth: Your child is safe in His arms. And one day, in a place where there are no more tears, you will be together again. Until then, Jesus holds you close — every moment, every breath.
