How to Transform Obstacles and Achieve Your Dreams

from Your Aha! Life · host Tonya Harris Cornileus

In this episode, I share how you can overcome any obstacle that you encounter so that you reach your goals and dreams, and you do it by believing in yourself and having the discipline and fortitude to keep going despite adversity.  "Believe in the beauty of your dreams." I often recite this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt when I speak about my life's passion. But what does this quote really mean? It takes reading the quote in its entirety to experience the full power of the former First Lady's message. She said: "Believe in yourself. You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face...You must do that which you think you cannot do...The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." (Eleanor Roosevelt) In addition to Roosevelt's quote, I also share a favorite passage by Ralph Marston on self-discipline and three kinds of discipline (Perception, Action, and Will) from Ryan Holiday's book, The Obstacle is the Way. Ryan's book is one of my favorite books and is framed from the maxim by Roman Emperor and stoic philosopher, Marcus Aurelius. Aurelius penned: The impediment to action advances the action. What stands in the way becomes the way. At the end of the episode, I share the good news! I launched my new website, www.yourahalife.com.
