How to turn your burdens into blessings

from Made for Impact · host Petia Kolibova

Today, we’re diving into how to transform life’s unexpected challenges into powerful blessings. Whether it's loss, financial stress, or plans that didn’t go as expected, every challenge holds an opportunity for growth. I recently went through an intense healing journey with my teeth, which brought unexpected expenses, delays, and deep reflection. It reminded me that we’re always being guided, even when things feel heavy. Life is constantly molding us into the version of ourselves that can hold more peace, richness, and purpose. If you’re in a season of struggle, I want you to know that you’re not alone. You are being prepared for something greater, and everything is happening for you, not to you. Trust, surrender, and look for the blessings—even when they seem hidden. Thank you for being here, for listening, and for sharing this journey with me. And a special moment of gratitude—we’ve officially crossed half a million downloads! The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
