How to Utilize Free Financial Literacy Resources in Your High School Counseling Program with Alyssa Lyons

from High School Counseling Conversations®

Think back to your family dinner table conversations while you were growing up. Did the topic of finances come up, or was that kept private? For many of us, there was a lack of financial literacy talk and not many opportunities to practice real-life skills such as long-term saving and spending. Now as adults, we know how important financial education is. Financial literacy is a topic that I’m super enthusiastic about, and today’s guest, Alyssa Lyon, shares that passion. Alyssa is here to discuss the need for our students to have equitable access to financial literacy and how it is a community effort to put this education into practice. At the end of the day, talking about money can be scary, but it can also be very empowering. When we can equip our students with knowledge around finances, it will help them, their families, and their community. In this episode, you’ll hear about free financial literacy resources that you can utilize to set your students up for success! Resources: Sign up for your first Teacher Care Crate!
