How Tom Brady Can Help You Double Your Sales

from The Dadpreneur Daily · host Adam Dukes

Yesterday, I was listening to Colin Cowherd, and he played a clip from a Boston morning radio show with Tom Brady. Tom Brady, who is arguably THE best quarterback of all time, said something along the lines of.... "Once that Chargers/Ravens game got over (the Patriots play the Chargers this weekend) I was up all night studying film. It's what I'll be doing all week this week. I am really excited" It was something along those lines. Colin also brought up a point where Brady was talking about how he's not a big fan of the gym, or lifting weights. Which, is pretty damn important for football. Or one would assume it was. Have you seen the size of Khalil Mack? Aaron Donald? JJ Watt? Those guys are enormous monsters on the field. Brady said he liked to study film, and that's where he spent the majority of him time. The nerdy stuff, one could say. Five Super Bowls later, and still playing at a high level for being 41, he might have something figured out. I bring this up for two reasons: First off.... He was up all night studying film. He's 41 years old and has played in the league for 19 seasons. Which is absolutely unheard of, especially at the quarterback position. He's a master at his craft, and continues putting in the work after all these years, and all these records he's set. He's never settled. Nor got complacent. He's still hungry after all these years. Says he wants to play till he's 45 -- which has never been done at his position. If you want to be great, or considered the best, you better be ready to put in the work day after day, year after year after year. Second point I want to bring up... He's not big into lifting weights, but does enjoy studying film & breaking down defenses. He's playing to his strengths.  As you can tell, it's worked out for him. Being self aware was something I was awful at just a few years back. Thanks to Gary V, he's brought it to the forefront of the entrepreneur community, I have improved significantly. We should all play to our strengths. We all have weaknesses. I suck at 99.3% of things. I try and focus my energy & efforts on my strengths. You should do the same. This isn't to say I do not work on some of my weaknesses, because I do. Communication & leadership are two areas I am weak in, and continue working on those two areas. Read books, listen to podcasts, apply the knowledge I'm gaining into my everyday life. Let's just say...it's work in progress. And it always will be. Apply these two lessons form #12 and you'll likely double your sales.
