How We Pretend: Coming Face To Face With Ourselves

from Raw Conversations with Corinne Blum · host Corinne Blum

How often do you find yourself pretending? You might not be conscious of it but we often don’t share how we really are, not only with others but sometimes, more importantly, with ourselves. We’ll distract ourselves from the discomfort, we’ll push down the pain, we’ll avoid the sadness…but there’s no ‘away.’ There is only repression and at one point or another, we will have to face what’s inside of us otherwise it will find a way out; most likely in an unpleasant way. We live in a pain avoidant society. We deify ‘doing.’ We haven’t been taught how to be with and move through our emotions. How to sit with our pain, sadness, loss and grief. In this episode I’m inviting you to think about dropping into the metaphoric dark room within you (listen to the episode to see what I’m referring to here) and listen. Listen to your feelings and emotions. Pay attention to your pain. Give a voice to your sadness, anger and even rage. All of these are messengers asking for your attention to go deeper. Deeper inside of yourself where you’ll find home, comfort and the confidence to just be you. No more pretending. No more needing to be something that you are not. Just you, as you are, fully worthy of just being you. Tune in for more… Loving you from afar, Corinne www.corinneblum.com Facebook: @corinneblum @corinneblumcoach Instagram: @corinneblum @theauthenticselfcoach
