How White Supremacists Are Allowed to Control Every Narrative

from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein, Dr. Allison Wiltz, and Will Fullwood

Hey Friends! This was delightful! I’m always so happy to sit down and chat with Will and Allison. I first met Allison on Medium around 2020. She made me one of her editors on Cultured and that’s allowed me to get to meet a lot of new writers over the years. I met Will on Substack, but I recruited him to write for Medium and I’ve nominated some of his stories for Boosts on Medium too (full circle).Actually, I was feeling very satisfied even before the 3 of us started talking. I think it’s so important to bring brilliant minds together and I was delighted that Allison and Will would get to meet each other. We hit the ground running with this talk and barely had time to even do an introduction.Whenever there is a major media event, like the two school shootings of last week, I tend to turn to Will and Allison and a couple more (Arturo), while I’m wrestling with the issue. They all offer powerful insight that the mainstream media refuses to touch.Friends, I know that we’re in a battle for the soul of our nation. You know it too. But if you waste your time watching the mainstream news, all they’re going to do is repeat the same old lies that got us into this mess. I encourage you all to give up on the mainstream media (cancel all your subscriptions and support the independent journalists on Substack). As for me, when the television comes on, I watch cartoons, The Brady Bunch, or movies with my kids. If something comes on that claims to be “news” I hit mute and look elsewhere. When I want to find out what’s happening, I read Dr. Allison Wiltz, William Fullwood, Arturo Dominguez, and Heather Cox Richardson (I’m going to keep tagging her because she could provide a force multiplier on all our platforms—and I think she’s great).I’m so grateful for this talk and for meeting all these brilliant minds. Talking to people like Allison and Will gives me hope, and that’s certainly something we need.
