The Twins sit at 48-49 out of the break, three games back and still very much in the Wild Card mix. Byron Buxton's MVP-caliber first half, bullpen surprise Yoendrys Gómez, and the No. 3 draft pick catcher Vahn Lackey. At All-Star Week, Buxton was voted in as starter but missed the game with a hip injury but still soaked up the moment with his family at the Derby. Joe Ryan made his second straight All-Star team.
