How You Can Be a Successful Communicator in Life: The Recipient with Scott Thomas

from King's Council Podcast with Rylee Meek & Christian Edwards

Now that you have tools as the sender, you know how to properly package the message, how do you handle the person receiving your message? In the third and final part of this series, Scott Thomas joins Rylee once again as they expose some of the many ways a recipient needs to be communicated to. Our perception is our reality, so as the communicator, it is our job to speak to the reality of the recipient and make them feel valued. In order to do that, you have to meet them where they’re at before leading them down the desired path. You do this by maintaining the dance; effectively asking questions, building rapport, respect, trust. A recipient wants to feel like you’re on their side. Once you master these skills, it will become much easier to lead the recipient where you want them to go.In this episode, you will learn: (3:38) What the recipient’s role is in the third part of the communication process (10:49) Why “pacing” and “leading” are important for the recipient (17:14) How the “matching” and “mirroring” techniques are used for the recipient (23:23) How to verbally lead a recipient to take the action you want (27:11) What you have to do to get the recipient to take action –If you’re interested in reading Intentional Influence, by Scott Thomas and Rylee Meek, for more techniques to communicate, examples and how you can practice them, please text “COMMUNICATION” to 727-472-3860. –The King’s Council’s mission is to help you discover and deploy your God-given talents.
