A string of recent, highly publicized "Ransomware" attacks have many healthcare organizations and their vendors scrambling to protect themselves and spurred the FBI to publish a Flash Alert. These attacks are a fairly new paradigm for hospitals after years of protecting themselves from the theft of patient information, hospitals now must worry about the encryption and potential destruction of their data.
