Human connection with Chris Ingate

from Humanity is a Beautiful Thing Hosted by Alexandra Shiell

On the first episode of the year I am joined by Chris Ingate, an old friend, whose journey is one of passion, creating a positive impact on people's mental health through volunteering. Chris is the co-founder of tech platform, One Another (do good feel good) making human connection and volunteering more accessible. One of the quotes that Chris uses is ‘ you help someone else climb a mountain, you too reach the top’ and discusses that the act of volunteering and giving back is the vehicle to creating human connection. Chris discusses Western and Eastern culture, specifically, Ikigai, the Japanese secret to a long and happy life. We also have discussions around creating balance in our lives, thoughts on living in the present moment and embracing the journey, social media and what Chris calls the media diet. I hope this episode gives you new insights and perspectives as it has for me, after my discussion with Chris I commited to planting trees with my good friend, allowing me to give back in a very different way.
