from Short SciFi Stories on the go · host Kelli Korner
For a moment every dominion ship flickered and then ceased to exist, no explosion, no wreckage, just absence, like they'd never been there. Humanity isn't gone, they've evolved, they became the dark, the feed ended with a single image, one colossal ship turning toward the drone, a symbol glowed faintly on its hull, saw command, and then the drone vanished. It's impossible, dark matter, can't be controlled, they told us not to follow, and then the chamber went dark, every light, every hollow feed, gone. When the lights returned, the chamber windows showed the impossible, the stars outside shifting, thousands of black silhouettes in orbit, no heat signatures, no visible engines, and then one of them moved closer, massive, planet sized, a terran, voice whispered through the council's translators, this is the UTS oblivion, flagship of the dark matter fleet. The council sat frozen in silence, no one dared to breathe, and in that silence, fear bloomed across the galaxy, because in every system, across every star ghostly signals began to appear, coordinates.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/little-scifi-stories-on-the-go--7033804/support.
