Humility & The Gospel

from A Church In The City · host Downtown Christian Church

Sharing the Gospel (or evangelizing) isn't about "making converts" or articulating convincing arguments. Rather, it is about demonstrating a new LIFE and a better WAY - modeling the culture of the Kingdom and the heart of the King... Kevan continues our Fall Small Group series, A Church In The City, with this message titled Humility & The Gospel.  This week's discussion questions are... Kevan shared a story about a time where he missed a great opportunity to share the gospel with a friend due to his own insecurity and wrong thinking. How does putting the activity of "evangelism" in the context of demonstration (vs. argument) change your paradigm and help you to "share the gospel" more freely? Servant-hood is paramount to sharing the Gospel. Are there any ways that you can grow in the area of servant-hood to those around you (i.e. family, co-workers, etc.)? Share one or two examples with the group. We know that the Gospel is for everyone, regardless of distinction, categorization, or sectarian division, and that, as Jesus followers, we are called to evangelize. But sometimes it's difficult to get over our fears or past our differences with others in order to get to a place where we can share the Gospel with authenticity. Tell the group about some of the challenges you face. Then, as a group, pray for and encourage one another in these areas.
