Humility for Christian Consistency (Gal 2.11-16) - 4-16-23

Let us pray.In the Galatians text we find Paul opposing Peter because of Peter’s inconsistency. The Gentile controversy had already been addressed and answered.I. Christian Consistency should be defended with courageous humility. v11a. Paul was not perfect, but he served a perfect God.b. The Holy Spirit led him to address Peter directly.II. Christian Consistency can be damaging by yielding to fear. v12a. Perfect love casts out fear.b. All things work together for good.III. Christian Consistency should be maintained for the sake of others. v13a. Some are attracted to us because of the Light of Jesus.b. What we say and do can lead others to Christ or push them away.We just celebrated Easter. Many were on their best behavior. I pray we will all be a consistent Christian every day and not just on the big day. We may need someone to remind us when we get off track. So may we all have humility for Christian consistency.Amen.
