Humility: The Remedy for Disunity

from The DCC Podcast · host Dayspring Christian Center

Today, Bishop teaches from Philippians 2:1-4 on the cure for disunity. The mind has analytic abilities. It creates reasons and justifies actions. Also, it harbors suspicions and catalogs offenses. It advocates us fighting for our rights and fosters resentment. Therefore, it is important for believers to ask these four questions: (1) Does our experience in Christ appeal influence our actions; (2) Does love exerts any persuasive power over us; (3) Is our fellowship in the spirit a living reality; and (4) Do you have any affectionate yearnings of heart? If so, Apostle Paul tells us to listen and obey. Uniformity and unity is not the same thing. Uniformity is the result of pressure. True spiritual unity comes from within; it is a matter of the heart. Humility is a proper estimation of oneself and a healthy respect for who God is and what He did on our behalf. Selfish ambition and conceit can ruin unity, but genuine humility can build it. We pray as you listen to this message, you will have a deeper understanding on the importance of humility in the life of a believer and in the body of Christ. Have a safe and bless week.
