HUNGERING FOR REVIVAL!

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: Psalm 85:6 “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” A cry for revival is a confession that we cannot manufacture spiritual life on our own. Like the psalmist, we look around and sense dryness—hearts growing cold, passion fading, holiness treated lightly. Yet the same God who once breathed life into dust delights to breathe fresh life into His people. Revival is God renewing what has grown dull, awakening what has fallen asleep, and igniting joy that overflows into worship and witness. True revival begins in the secret place. It starts when believers humble themselves, repent of compromise, and ask the Spirit to kindle a deeper love for Jesus. When God revives us, stale routines become vibrant, courage replaces apathy, and rejoicing rises where heaviness once ruled. The change within us then spills outward—families, churches, and even communities catch fire with renewed hope. Revival is not nostalgia for the past but anticipation of what God still longs to do. He is ready to answer the prayer of every surrendered heart that hungers for more of Him. Our part is to keep the altar of our hearts clear of idols and wide-open for His flame. Today, ask yourself: Am I earnestly longing for God to revive me, or have I grown content with spiritual mediocrity? What steps of humility, repentance, and prayer can I take so His fresh life can flow through me? Prayer: AlmightyFather, I confess my need for Your reviving power. Stir my heart with holy hunger, cleanse me from anything that quenches Your Spirit, and fill me anew. May Your revival begin in me and spread to all around me, so that together we rejoice in You. Amen.
