Hunter Profile with Kevin Martone

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan talks with Massachusetts bowhunter Kevin Martone about deer behavior, the terrain he hunts, and his yearly hunting strategy. Kevin breaks down the properties he hunts and how he uses wetlands and marshes that create edge that funnel deer movement. He hunts on a large piece of property that is owned by a popular non-profit organization that is archery only. This property is shared with other hikers and nature lovers so Kevin also talks about how he deals with that type of pressure.On this specific property, Kevin is the hunting coordinator and talks about the how he works with a wildlife biologist to best manage the deer population.
