Hurling’s Hand Pass Rule Under Fire | Belfast News

The GAA’s Hurling Expert Advisory Group is set to revolutionize the game with a bold new rule trial starting in October: no more consecutive hand passes. If a player throws the ball twice in a row with their hand, the opposing team gets a free kick — forcing a cleaner, more decisive strike. Tested first in the Higher Education hurling league, this change aims to speed up play and reward skill over quick passes. Players will need to adapt fast, and fans are in for a wild ride as the sport evolves — sparking debate and excitement ahead of the new season.
