Hurricane Melissa Impacts Jamaican Families

from ARN Stories · host Annenberg Radio Stories

Hurricane Melissa made landfall on Jamaica's southwest coast today as a Category 5 storm. It's now a Category 4, but that's still a monster storm; wind speeds are 160 miles per hour. Bridges and roads across the country are flooded. There are widespread outages as winds bring down power lines. We spoke with Darrin Greaves and Gaelle Jean-Pierre. They are juniors and co-presidents of USC's Caribbean Student Association and both have family currently in Jamaica.
