Hurricane Survival Stories, Coffee Chat & Fun with Halloween Plans!

from Coffee Beanery | Sip & Share

Welcome back to Coffee Beanery Sip and Share! In today’s episode, we’re catching up after our eventful trip to Florida, where we faced a hurricane head-on. Patti, Laurie, and Britain share behind-the-scenes stories of how we prepared for the storm, stayed safe, and managed to keep our spirits high despite the wild weather. We dive into the realities of hurricane preparation—everything from scrambling for last-minute supplies to making sure our families were safe in separate units. We experienced flooding, strong winds, and power outages, but thankfully, we were staying in a sturdy building that kept us secure. As Britain shares, we even had to use sandbags to prevent water from entering our unit! While the storm was intense, we stayed organized, prepared, and focused on safety. Patti kept her “mom instincts” sharp, gathering everyone into a safer hallway during the roughest hours. It wasn’t all serious, though—we managed to keep the kids entertained and even found some humor amidst the chaos.Once we returned home, we found ourselves right back in the swing of things. We’re excited to announce that our holiday coffee blends—like Cinnamon Holiday Blend and Merry Mocha Mint—have already sold out! We’re working hard to restock, so if you haven’t gotten your order yet, hang tight. We’ve got more on the way!Today’s chat isn’t all about hurricanes and coffee, though. We also delve into some lighter topics, like fun Halloween ideas and past costumes. Laurie, our resident costume planner, usually decides our group costumes, so we’re eagerly waiting to see what she has in store for us this year. We reminisce about past costumes, funny experiences, and the joys of Halloween-themed goodies, like Britain’s favorite Edgar Allan Poe-inspired accessories.Speaking of spooky fun, we also explore some popular TV shows, like Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Vikings: Valhalla, and the creepy series Grotesquery. We share our thoughts on everything from horror films to lighter Halloween entertainment, including how Patti tried to scare us with Magic Mike ads (not scary, just disappointing). The conversation even drifts into serious topics like crime documentaries, with Patti admitting her love-hate relationship with true crime stories. Let’s just say, she’s always watching her back! For our book club fans, we’re choosing our next read, and there’s a strong debate over Game of Thrones vs. classic favorites like Gone with the Wind. Laurie’s pushing for Scarlett, a sequel to Gone with the Wind, and there’s talk of doing a Southern-themed book club night. We wrap up with discussions about holiday gift shopping, favorite Etsy finds, and even Laurie’s surprise gift for Britain (which she somehow misplaced until now). We’ve got a lot happening as we head into the busy holiday season—subscription boxes are shipping, holiday blends are brewing, and Advent calendars are almost ready. We’ve also got a bake-off coming up, so the competition is on, and Britain’s defending her crown! Thanks for joining us today! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to stay updated on our coffee adventures, book club picks, and all the fun, even in the midst of hurricanes. Let us know in the comments what you’re dressing up as for Halloween or which holiday coffee blend you’re most excited about. Stay cozy, and we’ll see you next week! https://www.coffeebeanery.com/collections/holiday-coffee
