Hurricane Touchdown!! Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals

This one left us way more confused than we expected. We’re breaking down Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!/Transcendent Evolution! The Golden Digimentals, the original Japanese story that became 1/3 of Digimon: The Movie we grew up with on Fox Kids. We really enjoyed that heavily edited Saban version, so finally seeing the original should’ve been an easy win. But somehow, it feels darker, slower, and even more confusing than the crazy editing of the Saban cut. Willis and Terriermon are at the center of the story, and we’ve got a lot to say about why these versions of them didn’t connect with us quite the same way. From Willis’s history with Kokomon to the Golden Digimentals and a story that gets increasingly stranger as it goes, we’re figuring out why the version we loved as kids might actually work better for us. 📺 WATCH MY ADVENTURES WITH DIGIMON ON YOUTUBE https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0gHHg-xQBVPkZXCHukQAE6XMdqcqKfUm ❤️ SUPPORT THE SHOW Patreon: https://patreon.com/hopefullyawesome Become a YouTube Member: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHRvjz_pKP1Th5Y8ZIwFMtQ/join 🛍️ HOPEFULLY AWESOME MERCH https://hopefullyawesome.creator-spring.com/ 📒 SHOW NOTES AND RESOURCES Time Stamps 0:00 - My Adventures With Digimon - 2x21.5 4:18 - Hurricane Touchdown!! Each week, Matt and Maggie break down the story, compare the dubs, rank the Digimon of the week, hunt for references, and occasionally get distracted by what the DigiDestined are eating. We’re a married couple who love 90s and 00s nostalgia, good laughs, and geeking out over the stuff we love. Whether you grew up watching Digimon or you’re discovering it for the first time, grab your Digivice and come along for the adventure. My Adventures With Digimon is part of Hopefully Awesome, where we keep things positive, have fun, and celebrate the stuff we love.
