Growing up in Baltimore is tough, where trouble can find you easily. Taber credits his father for moving him to a different high school which helped him be seen and recruited. His journey to UConn is much different because he transferred in from Temple. Taber was on the legendary 1998 team that went to the playoffs, he dealt with injuries and contributed when healthy. His career took off in 1999 after he received an opportunity and Taber never looked back. Taber won the offensive MVP award after the 99' season which was well deserved. He was a quiet warrior with amazing vision, patience, and ran hard. In my opinion, it was Taber being outstanding in blitz pickups or pass protection that set him apart and made a difference. When I started playing in 2000, being a nervous wreck, Taber always told me not to worry, play hard and he had my back. Very true, as he saved me plenty of times from giving up sacks. After graduating, Taber aspired to be an NFL scout after spending several years learning the business. He worked in banking after that for 20 years and moved to Maryland. Now, he is a true entrepreneur, owning a business and buying properties. Starting a family, he was married 13 years ago and has children of his own. Taber is one of the most selfless, kindest guys you will ever meet. Thank you for doing the show! Thanks to everyone for the incredible love and support you have shown for Husky Talk. https://youtu.be/cdg8dGUe-qM
