Today we are joined with Sarah, who was diagnosed as an adult as an autistic person in 2019. We talks about so many topics around autism, we speak strongly about not agreeing about the labels "High Functioning" Low Functioning" we feel it undermines what it means to be autistic. Sarah says, the diagnosis helped with her recovery and mental health, she did work at a primary school at felt it was too much. We talk sensory, and sarcasm too. We mention about different hyperfixations, hobbies we are interested in, for Sarah, she loves writing poems and art! Words we don't like are Disorder, Disability, yet again that undermines us! Some great advise from Sarah, listen to us "Listen to autistic people! One more thing, we are Neurodivergent, a word which is being used more in the Autism community we love it!
