Hypermobility and Autism - With Kitty

from Crohn's and Autism Awareness Advocate · host Mason Milne

Today, I am joined with Kitty who has Autism and Hypermobility. Kitty was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 4 years old. We talk about mainstream transferring to a special school we both went too, this transformed our lives. Kitty opens up and says things are hard at first when you find out you have autism especially at a young age. We have a conversation about confidence how we have built it up during a school called Market field school. Kitty talks about how at first she didn't feel normal being autistic, but later on said we are all different nobody is the same, we're all human! Kitty expresses how supportive school and college are, and talks to us about her Hypermobility, which i found interesting. We talk about joints, fatigue and how exercise can impact you and hypermobility.  We talk how difficult it can be to choose a job for the future so early in school life.  This is a great conversation and catch up, with Kitty, me and her did go to the same school, if you haven't already guessed, we talk about difficulty of change too, a episode you won't want to miss! We are now at the half way stage of the series of Autism awareness month.
