Today’s podcast news podcast is sponsored by elevatorbooks.com: www.elevatorbooks.com HYUNDAI ELEVATOR’S DOMESTIC BUSINESS STRONG IN 2020 South Korea's Hyundai Elevator reported strong new and modernization business across the country in the first half of 2020, citing a "strong will to stand up to challenges" of the COVID-19 pandemic. In its summer 2020 newsletter, Hyundai Elevator shared details of major contracts, including Lotte Castle, which will include the tallest building in the Dongdaemun-gu area of Seoul. The contract includes 99 elevators traversing 65 above- and eight below-ground floors within five buildings. Installation is anticipated in 2023. The OEM is also providing 384 elevators with options such as foot activation for buildings of varying heights at 12 sites across the country for Daelim Industrial Co. Modernization jobs include the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul (four elevators serving 20 floors) and Booyoung Housing developments in locations across western South Korea (269 elevators).
