When he returned to Australia, he settled back on Phillip Island, building his shed-style sustainable dream home. After modelling for two in LA and New York for the likes of Calvin Klein, Rhys returned to Australia to star in the popular Australian soap Neighbours (1985) as Scotty Boland. Following this, he joined Channel 10's The Circle (2010) as a reporter before landing a hosting role on Network Seven's Coxy's Big Break (2004). He also starred as Malcolm Walwork in Network Seven's Winners & Losers (2011). Rhys launched his bohemian surf fashion label TEVITA in 2012.
