A high school graduate of Glenville class of 1980, Presently an employee of Huntington National Bank, Treasury Management Department Adrienne has been there for twenty years.She is an individual who is affected by Sickle Cell Anemia. In 2002 after receiving a negative comment on my yearly review, ahe decided to turn that negative into a positive and in 2004 formed “Kincaid’s Kindred Spirits, Inc” a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created for the purpose of bringing greater community awareness to the plight of adults who are afflicted with Sickle Cell Anemia.If you would like more information about the group you can visit us at kks4sicklecell.org or we can be reached a 216-347-1931.No one should suffer in silence. What is sickle cell disease?Sickle cell disease is an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells. People with sickle cell disease have red blood cells that become hard and pointed instead of soft and round. Sickle cells cause anemia, pain and many other problems.How many people have sickle cell disease?Sickle cell disease is a global health problem. In the United States it is estimated that over 70,000 people have sickle cell disease.
