I Am Not Your Negro: James Baldwin

A beautifully directed and narrated documentary, I Am Not Your Negro, based upon James Baldwin's telling of life in America. Donna & Jonathan reflect on this documentary relating so closely with Jonathan being a queer black male and persevering through the continued battle of the stigmas that both of these "categories" hold.  "But what one does realize is that when you try to stand up and look the world in the face as if you had a right to be here, you have attacked the entire power structure of the western world.” - James Baldwin Sources: https://nmaahc.si.edu/explore/stories/introduction-james-baldwin https://www.netflix.com/title/80144402 Instagram: @DonnaJaneen #JamesBaldwin #blackhistory #queerinamerica #blackinamerica #documentary
