I AM... The Good Shepherd

from Coventry Vineyard Podcast · host Coventry Vineyard

Everyone worships something. As Christians, we worship Jesus—but who is the Jesus we worship? And who is the Jesus we follow? This Sunday, Cecile explores one of Jesus’ powerful “I am” statements from John 10: “I am the Good Shepherd and the Gate.” Speaking to a culture that deeply understood shepherding, Jesus uses the vivid image of sheep—an image rich with meaning, even if it’s a little uncomfortable for us today. In the first half of John 10, we see what Jesus reveals about Himself: the Shepherd who knows His sheep and lays down His life for them, and the Gate through whom they find safety, freedom, and abundant life. As we reflect on this truth, we’re invited to consider how following the Good Shepherd can transform the way we live and worship.
