I Am the True Vine

John 14:1–16:33Still in the upper room after the Passover meal, Jesus tells his troubled disciples where he's going and how they can follow, promising a Helper who will never leave them. Walking out toward the Mount of Olives, he compares himself to a vine and warns them that the same hatred aimed at him will fall on them too. Before the night is over, he tells them plainly that their grief is only for a little while — and that he has already overcome the world.We are in a Mark-John Harmony.
