I Believe In Our Decency
from In The Life Room Hosted by Adrienne A. Wallace
We know the way. At the end of the day, I believe in the decency of the American people. I would have left the United States a long time ago if I did not believe in the decency of our people. I believe in my family, friends, and colleagues. I don't watch the debates. Some of them do. I do my research. Those who have a real career in politics: I look up their in-office work and contributions, where their funding comes from, what they have supported in their home states and D.C. I do the same for those just seeking nomination and look at their attributes and contributions in their industry and businesses. I hear and get plenty of feedback from my circle and definitive information from researching. I don't ingest poison or let vice penetrate my life. It means I am not one to stand at the water cooler with gossip and sensationalism or post memes on social media as a means of citing my "political choice." I often encourage people to not ingest the madness, to focus their energy on what they want to grow, but truth is we live in a YouTube age and are not dealing with a community of Americans that like libraries and long form learning. Decisions are being made based on fear and snack content.
