I Brought It Home... It Has No Mouth, But It Speaks To Me

Blog posts written by Ariana Gomez—a young paramedic who recounts her encounters with a bizarre, mouthless, purple-and-green cartoon monkey that does not exist in mainstream pop culture. As a child, Ariana first encounters the character on a box of "Shredder Shocks" cereal purchased at an eerie, out-of-place gas station selling unfamiliar products. Years later, she finds an untagged plush toy of the same monkey falling off a shelf at a toy store. Her obsession deepens as an adult when a dying, delirious patient recognizes the plush toy, frantically warning her that "The Shredder Monkey" is a malevolent entity that stalks individuals through strange, anomalous mediums—like impossibility-laden cereal mazes and cryptic word puzzles—to break down their minds and drag them into an alternate realm. As Ariana attempts to solve the eerie clues left behind, she realizes the plush toy in her room is gradually changing positions and coming to life, leading to her sudden, mysterious disappearance as her final blog entries grow increasingly unhinged.
