I Can't Breathe

A song I wish I didn't have to write... I Can't Breathe - 6/1/20 It's a new song but it's an old one how many have to be sung before we can overcome Lord how long must this go on before people wake up and see that this is so wrong I can't breathe please let me breathe now I can't breathe just trying to breathe now same old problem passed through generations a blatant disregard for our humanity it's obvious to me that our lives have no value cause if it did you wouldn't choke the life out of me how can you not expect me to be angry when time and time again you spit in my face using your authority to commit brutality then try to tell me it's not because of my race I can't breathe won't you please let me breathe now I can't breathe I'm just trying to breathe now On your mark get ready get set the spin has begun minimization undertaken by politicians focusing more on the reaction than the solution meanwhile we just lost another mother's son You sold me the illusion of America talkin bout freedom liberty and justice for all but I guess it depends on who you are, if you're rich or if you're poor well now we can see the writing's on the wall so mr wannabe don't you know your time is done our march to the polls has now begun never mind your half measures trying to placate all you can really do for me is to vacate I'll never again be able to see my children or hold my wife cuz you took away the last 8 minutes 46 seconds of my life... it's so hard to rise above the noise and confusion there's so many voices out here and I'm just one screaming I can't breathe please let me breathe now I can't breathe I'm just trying to breathe now I can't breathe won't you please let me breathe now I can't breathe just trying to breathe now MAMA! (I can't breathe) it's been a long... long time coming... but I know - a change gonna come... oh yes it will Los - 6/1/20
