I Could Easily Become a Politcal Hermit in the Woods

I was downstairs with Mooch earlier today. It was unusually quiet. And I liked that.As I was getting her lunch together after our short walk, I noticed her electric drinking dish making noticeable noise. It was calming, like a water fountain. I laughed as I caught myself talking in complete sentences to her, as I put her food in her dish.It’s nice having alone time with the Mooch. We have a family of 5 adults living here. It’s not always quiet and peaceful. I love when my family is home, but I appreciate the times when it’s just me chatting with my small dog. I could see myself being ok in the future if I were alone. Or with just a pet. Some folks find that kind of living sad. I certainly would never want to be without my Bride, but it’s a 50-50 chance that one of us will have to live that reality. At least for a short while, at minimum.I thought about this today and talked about it in today’s podcast episode. If I had to hide out in the woods due to political unrest or violence, I feel that I could handle it. If I fled to another country to live simply, either with my Bride or alone, I think I’d thrive. We get too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of American living. I feel that the change of living remotely someday will be welcome in my later years.
