Not a spot. Covered. His whole body declaring him untouchable. He couldn't enter the synagogue, embrace his family, come near anyone without shouting "Unclean!" to warn them away.Then he saw Jesus. And he broke every rule.He fell on his face and begged: Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean. Not if you can. If you wish. He had no doubt about Jesus's power. His only question was whether Jesus would want to heal someone like him.That's the question that keeps people away from God. Not can he, but will he. We assume our particular uncleanness is the exception.Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him. Touched a leper. A man no one had touched in years. According to the law, the contamination should have spread from leper to Jesus.It went the other way.I do will it. Be made clean. Immediately the leprosy left him.The cleanness was contagious. Jesus didn't become unclean. The leper became clean. Everything the world believes about contamination got reversed in that single touch.What do you assume disqualifies you?
