"I Don't Care If You Have A Broken Face!" (PST Show #462)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

The 2022 NFL Draft is now in the books, and we dissected a lot of it on this week's pod! Our good friend, Mark Schofield (@MarkSchofield) from USA Today's Touchdown Wire joined us for some rookie and team analysis since we've had some time to digest the draft. We also discussed how this draft affects the Eagles in the short- and long-term. It was a great discussion! Also this week, our friend Jeff Kerr (@JeffKerrCBS) was our guest host, and did an incredible job giving his perspective as always. But first, we discussed the lack of consistency with this Philadelphia Phillies team, and how the pitching may need to be addressed at the trade deadline. (approx. 4:20)From there, we got into some Sixers talk as Joel Embiid - predictably - was once again screwed out of the MVP award by the NBA. (approx. 11:30)Then we gave our thoughts on how Tom Brady has already inked a deal to become a senior broadcaster for Fox Sports once he hangs up his cleats. Might this set a precedent in the years to come as it pertains to the future of sports broadcasting? (approx. 22:55)We then discussed briefly Jeff Kerr's overall opinions and thoughts after the Eagles rookie camp this week. (approx. 30:35)What we threw down on the Table this week was a great interview with Mark Schofield from USA Today's Touchdown Wire about how the NFL Draft affected various players and teams throughout the league. We dove into surprises from the draft, the lack of quarterback love, and how certain teams - like the Seahawks - didn't care for the 2022 quarterback class. Plus, Mark gave some great thoughts on the Eagles draft overall, and especially Nakobe Dean. All of this and much more this week on the Table!
