I dont wanna graduate ft Cosign Black

from The Worst Friends Podcast · host Patrick and Viterlis - Entertainment and Comedy Hosts

Welcome to Episode 58 of The Worst Friends Podcast 🎙️🔥In this powerful and emotional episode, we sit down with rising star rapper Cosign Black as he takes us through his journey into music from his earliest days in 2016 to becoming one of the most promising voices in the scene today.Cosign Black reflects on moving into high school in 2018, where his love for battle rap began to grow. While studying in Kakamega, he shares a hilarious story of how he once convinced fellow students that “Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B was actually his song 😅.After finishing high school during the peak of the Genge Tone era, studio sessions became experimental and exciting, with everyone trying their luck as different groups emerged. Through those sessions, Cosign slowly discovered his true voice as a rapper. He walks us through his early releases, starting with his first solo project “Diana”, followed by multiple singles and an EP that would later change his life. That EP landed him a spot in a singing competition on StarTimes TV, where he performed one of the songs a moment that caused his music to skyrocket.Inspired but uncertain about the future, Cosign Black decided to drop his first-ever album, “I Don’t Want To Graduate.” He breaks down the inspiration behind the album, explaining how fear of the unknown shaped its theme, while still embracing the courage to face the next phase of life. He also dives deep into the creative process, sharing how each song came together. He reminisces on the album launch a milestone moment where he met some of Kenya’s greatest rappers including Khaligraph Jones, King Kaka, KOB, and Steph Kapella, who gave him genuine reactions that later gained thousands of views online. However, the celebrations were short-lived. Just three days after the album launch, Cosign’s father was hospitalized, and ten days later he tragically lost his dad. He opens up about the grief, stepping away from the internet, and how loss forced him to “graduate” into a new phase of life. After taking time to heal, he shares how he made his return with a freestyle and what fans can expect from his future projects.Later in the episode, our co-host Viterlis shares his holiday experience, including a chilling New Year’s Eve moment where he almost lost his phone 📱😬, along with his New Year’s resolutions. We wrap things up with our music and movie recommendations of the day, making this episode a full mix of inspiration, humor, honesty, and culture.🎧 Tap in, like, comment, and subscribe for more real conversations.
