I Fear I’m Running Out of Time to See the World

Tick-tock… I’m becoming painfully aware of how short life is. I’ve learned of the deaths of classmates I knew as a child. They seem to happen more frequently than I ever remember. And I’m only 51 years old. I can only imagine how this accelerates when I reach my 60s, then 70s. My parents are in their 70s. They’ve never left the United States. I don’t want that for me. My Bride and I have had hopes and dreams of visiting other countries together. We’ve never been able to do that in the almost 15 years we’ve been together. Travel is pricey. And when you have people back home who depend on you, it’s not easy to take trips out of the country. Or to live abroad, away from your parents and children. I talk about this juggling act I’m living through at this stage of life in today’s podcast episode. I’m thankful and grateful for the progress I’ve made as a writer for the past 4 1/2 years. But I’m also painfully aware of how slow this process has been. I hope to achieve so much more and visit many more places I’ve never been. Whatever happens, I’ll take you guys there with me.
