Welcome to the tweet trends podcast. Hey, what's trending today? Hey, I mean, hey girl And you are tuned in to tweet trends is the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Oh My goodness trend friends.

I had no idea that today was Tuesday. I I just realized it is afternoon And I'm like, you know what I feel like I'm forgetting something well duh I'm forgetting to make my episode for today. How crazy is that? So it just so happens that today is Community engagement day as well as speak up and succeed day So I've got an interesting angle that we're gonna come at this with today Well, I'm not gonna explain anymore.

Let's just get started Community engagement has been happening all over the place for the past couple of days since hearing about the helicopter crash and the Passing of Kobe Bryant and the other eight people that were on board and So now for me my definition of community engagement is working with groups of people to address issues affecting their well-being And so you may be saying well, how does that relate to this information? And I feel like the well-being of a great portion of society Has been has been stirred up. It's been shaken It's been turned upside down on its head because people's mortality has been challenged You know, they're people are looking at themselves now I'm like, you know, this guy had it all, you know, he had a family and you know, he could afford to travel by helicopter And here I am at my little car, you know, I got to pray every time I walk outside the door And you know, I'm still here, but he's gone now, you know, people start looking at themselves Like am I even worthy to be here? Like why am I still here?

type thing It's a thing that happens when people pass that that's just a natural thing that people tend to ask a question they question God they question each other and So where I look at the community engagement as both a science and an art because there's that psychology behind it all with those things that people do in certain situations and then there's also skill and sensitivity in Molding it all together into something that can actually help the people and so some of these conversations that have come out of this Have been helping people to heal the other part of it is the understanding a lot of people want to understand and the understanding You know, there's not a whole lot to understand when it comes to death other than the fact that we're all born and we must die and That's troubling for a lot of people because everything else in the world. We can explain away We can come up with an explanation if somebody drinks excessively and then they die because of alcohol poisoning then it's like oh, that's the reason why they had to go because they poisoned himself But then here you have a situation where this man was going to a game along with a group of people and You know, and it just happened him and these other people perished so Part of the reason why I didn't realize that today was Tuesday is because of all of the engagement it turned my Sunday and Monday into one day it was Monday and I Was able to get past the the shock of hearing that Kobe passed because although he was young 41 is very young He had made his mark on this world. It was the children on the helicopter that got me hit home because as a mother that has lost a child I Know that pain and it stings it burns and My solace in the whole thing is that I had my husband to cling to you You know, signs that I didn't think I was gonna make it through that My sanity was gonna be able to hold up and keep me for another day Whereas Vanessa does not have that Kobe's wife is gonna have to cling to other people to try to figure this whole thing out But the problem is that these people are eventually gonna go back to their norm They're regular every day and she's gonna be left trying to figure out who am I now without Kobe and what does this look like? How do I work this and I just can only imagine the pain because although the community needs the healing the family needs it as well?

But they both need completely different things the family needs quiet right now Whereas the community they need people to talk to them and so I'm kind of I'm kind in the middle of it You know, I'm like I need that healing I need to hear other people talk about it But then I don't want to talk about it at all because I want to respect the family and the rest of them But I had to come out here and let you know that is why I Did not realize it was Tuesday because I have been so enthralled in the community engagement that I yeah, I I lost track So the other day that we're celebrating today is Speak Up and Succeed Day and Through all of the community engagement and spin going on especially the ones like on SiriusXM for those different channels that have talk radio they have been allowing callers to call in and Speak up and you know, see how I tied that in there and speak up and succeed I have been moved by some of the stuff that I've heard It's interesting to hear both sides of the coin for those people that were pro Kobe and those people that were anti-cobie It's interesting to see that for those people that are are upset about the things that he'd done in his past as when he was younger I guess my thing is what is the gauge in society? Where can I go? Where's the book that I can look into and see what is the timeline? When do we start when do we finish if I mess up at the age of 25?

Do I get let off the hook at age 35 or you know 10 year window 15 year window or is this window forever open and no matter What I do I can never get beyond that now I know this is a human nature thing and you shouldn't live for people you live for God and you know God is the one that can When you you know, you pray you repent and God can say, you know, you're good. We're good. Yes, you messed up Thank you for repenting and now we're cool again Whereas people not so much people will hold your foot to the fire from now to never worry and it's never good And so I just want to know the rules of engagement Let me know so that should I mess up or should better yet when I mess up? What's my timeline?

Because like I've seen people in Hollywood do it and undoubtedly they know the proper timeline I've never done any research on it But they'll do something and then they'll kind of fall back into the shadows and then they'll kind of slowly come right out And it's as if nothing had happened people don't even call it up anymore Unless well, no, we not say unless there are some people that that works for and other people they you know They don't get that same privilege. I don't know why that is but that that's what I've noticed Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong how about me, but as far as speaking up I think it's something that we all need to do we need to talk to each other We need to share our stories with one another because that's the only way you learn you learn by sharing by teaching by explaining And if everybody is always so afraid to share because of that fear of the backlash of the hatred of Being ostracized and that sort of thing then we can never really grow as a people as a country as a community Because you know nobody wants to say anything because oh heaven forbid somebody find out Because then that could be the end of you and it shouldn't be like that But like I said, I may be wrong. So let me know what your thoughts are So I talked about the speaking up part But I didn't mention anything about the success and succeeding right and what I want to do is I'm gonna send you to a YouTube link through my Twitter account So look for hashtag tweet trends and I'm going to have a link to this video on YouTube It's called Kobe Bryant's top 10 rules for success And this was created back in August of 2015. So this wasn't something somebody just put together recently in the wake of his passing this has been this has been here for a little minute and It's worth a listen.

It's about 12 minutes long that right at 12 minutes and it's worth a listen Now although he's talking about basketball in this video you can relate the stuff that he's saying to your everyday life and It's inspirational it makes you want to get up and do better to do more to work harder to try harder to have visions have dreams have goals That sort of thing So just give it a listen. I think you'll enjoy it. All right guys. I was today's episode of tweet trends Thank you for listening to my mommy.
