However, it end up offering him a new career as a published author in the process. *****Fun Fact: In 1991 I was a contestant on JeopardyI lost-bet it all on the Final Question and got it wrongStill-it was a Bucket List experience.my story was published in The Hartford Courant Sunday magazine.Response to the article was positive and I even got fan mail and calls from strangers. Many encouraged me to be a writer.Since I had three kids who wanted a better menu than just eating library paste, I continued my day job for the next 25 years.A few years ago I retired and began to write Be Sincere Even When You Don't Mean It, starting it on a flight from Hartford to Albuquerque when I couldn't find a book to read in the gift shop and resolved to write a book that I'd like to read.Be Sincere Even When You Don’t Mean It to Amazon. It does ask you if you want to publish under another name. Why would I want to do that?It takes a while for the book to get on the site, and when notified that it was now live I searched for it by Author’s name and: I noticed there were already five other Jim Flynns there–and there are seven James Flynns! And using my middle initial didn’t help either.I was inspired by Korean Woman golfer Jeongeun Lee 6, who legally changed her name to add the “6” because there were already five Korean women golfers named Jeongeun Lee!After considering the alternatives, I’m publishing from now on under Jim Flynn Six, and I wish I was as good a golfer as Miss JL6Find more info about Jim and his books here:Website: https://www.jimflynnsix.com*******If you would like to contact the show about being a guest please email us at [email protected] us on Social MediaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0ETs2wpOHbCuhUNr0XFTw?view_as=subscriberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Twitter: https://twitter.com/DaunaD1Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomVideo of the interview is available here: https://youtu.be/PziGavBqohYHave a question or want to be a guest on the podcast email: [email protected] see upcoming guests click here: https://www.dmneedom.com/better-topodcastSupport the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomAudio Production done by Rich Zei at Third Ear Audio©2022 Better To...Podcast with D.
